Coffitivity

Situation:

After a promising start, Coffitivity reached a plateau. Its goal is to become the virtual platform of the world's largest coffee shop, but it's stuck in a flavor-of-the-month limbo, and is having trouble writing the next chapter of its brand.

Our idea:

The virtual coffee shop for collaborative minds. This is a tool that first matches freelancers to projects based on skill-sets. Then, it provides a collaborative platform with tools that freelancers need to work together and complete a project.

Why it works:

Coffitivity's user base is 70% writers and creatives. They tend to work in public spaces — areas, like coffee shops, that inspire concentration, conversation, and collaboration.

Research shows that people are most creative when slightly distracted. They're inspired by interactions with others, and that collaboration can often lead to great things.

At the same time, no man is an island. And not everyone has the necessary skills to complete a project on their own.

But collaboration isn't just about working with the right people. It's also about having access to the right tools to set deadlines, monitor progress, and keep people on task.

Enter Coffitivity 2.0.

The new Coffitivity:

Coffitivity now offers a matching service for freelancers to find other freelancers to collaborate on projects. To utilize the services, users can create a profile that tells other freelancers who they are, what they specialize in, what they are currently working on, and/or what work they completed in the past. Then, freelancers who want to work on a project are matched up with users who need help with a project and they are able to connect and collaborate over Coffitivity.
